Gday,
Iv'e been playing paintball/skirmish for a while now, (few years) but only ever used A-5s or 98 customs (those are the 2 most common rental/hire markers at comps n stuff) but recently Ive been looking for something to call my own.... So this is where YOU come in, Im lookin for a reliable, fast, user (read "idiot") friendly gun/marker. Ive been looking, readin as much as I can about the proto rail/matrix/slg gear. Budget is no worries for any of these markers.
Important pieces of info:
I play woods/indoor/speedball.
I go through insane amounts of ammo every time I get hold of a paintball gun.
I prefer to be able to do quick changes on the field if i have to (ammo/battery etc)
I want to know that if I pick my gun up and go out to a comp, its going to work, again and again and again.
So based on this, any thoughts or opinions?
Cheers

I think the best marker for you would be a PMR. With all of the different styles of play this is a very good marker. It can keep up with the higher end markers, but still has a lesser expensive price tag. This is also a very reliable marker.

With the newer 09 and 2010 PMR you dont really need any upgrades from stock. UL Frame and trigger, Ally back cap and a better feedneck, plus a 2 peice barrell.. Awesome right out of the box!.

You can get aftermarket boards and barrells and stuff, but might aswell spend your money on paint :)
