European Central Series - Prague 26th and 27th April 2008

Bullets

Budapest Bullets take the first place trophy in the Pro division after a tough weekend at the first leg of the newly formed European Central Series (ECS).
Only losing one match all weekend they looked dominant in tough division and have made the first step to securing the ECS title in 2008.

Congratulations to Árpi and all the Bullets crew which included Mr "U" and also to "Eastern Block", the Bullets second team, who came 2nd in the Open division.

Nexus

London Nexus entered their "Kids" into this event and managed a respectable 4th place Pro. Helped by London Nexus starters Tommy Gun and Dunny they all showed great heart and proved they have the potential to be top class players. They are all young and eager to learn and will be looking to improve on that during the rest of the ECS season.

Belgium has been Lang'ed

Ollie Lang in Belgium

This weekend, Oliver Lang went to Belgium to promote the sport and to give a clinic to the Belgian players. It was a very interesting clinic, learned all kind of drills and tricks to become one of the best. Also presenting the new DM8 and I think a lot of players already love the marker.
Thank you Dye for the support and Oliver for the fantastic weekend!

UK North vs. South, The Re-Match!

This Sunday, December 2,  D7 North and the Dirty South will meet at Pro-Aktiv Park for a re-match.  The North will do their best to claw back points they lost so gracefully to the DYE sponsored Dirty South last year, fighting for the chance to be called this years WINNER!

So are they up to it? Will the hard and fast pace of Xball be too much for the Northerners again?  Or will the last twelve months of training (and hurt pride) have paid off for them? Will it be enough to stop them loosing face a second time?

There is only one way to find out….

D7 North is hosting the event in style with spectator seating and refreshments available all day, you will feel right at home. Come support your team and watch some of the greatest players fight for the right to call themselves “The Best of the British”.

On top of all of this, you will be doing your good deed for the year as this is all for charity (and you thought it was just a pride thing).  All of the money from this event will be going to a charity chosen by the Northern Army, the Francis House Children’s Hospice (www.francishouse.org.uk).  A worthy cause, I am sure you will agree.  There will be a fund raising raffle with prizes donated by various companies, so even if you are not playing in the game, you could come away a winner.

The Los Angeles Ironmen take 4th at the PSP River City Open. It was a grueling event, the Ironmen battled their way to the quarter finals with only 1 loss. In the quarter finals, they squared up against Oakland Infamous, and finished with a commanding score of 14-3, sending the Ironmen to the semi's. In the semi's they faced Boston Red Legion, a worthy adversary indeed. The Men battled it out, ending the first half with a score of 5-5. Unfortunately, the second half didn't turn in their favor, and they ended up taking 4th at the PSP River City Open with a purse of $5000. The Ironmen still hold a top seat for the Series Title.
